We design, build and maintain automated test suites for enterprise applications and custom software. AI-assisted, tool-agnostic, and wired into your pipelines. Automating tests since 1999.
We work across enterprise tools including Tricentis Tosca, OpenText UFT and SmartBear TestComplete, and open-source frameworks including Playwright, Selenium WebDriver and Cypress. UK consultants lead delivery, supported by our Hyderabad delivery centre, on engagements from short proofs of concept through to long-term managed services.
How we use AI in Test Automation
We use governed LLM workflows to generate executable test code directly from requirements, user stories, API specifications and design assets. A consultant reviews and owns every generated artefact — AI accelerates test creation, it does not replace test design judgement. In practice this cuts the time from a signed-off user story to a running Playwright test from days to hours.
Where a client's toolchain supports it, we design automation to be callable by agents and CI orchestration — an option we build for rather than a capability we claim as standard.
Which test automation tool is right for you?
There is no single best test automation tool. The right choice depends on your applications, your team's skills and your budget. We run tool selection and evaluation studies, then prove the choice with a short proof of concept before you commit to a licence or a framework. We work across enterprise and open-source toolsets, so our recommendation is not tied to a product we need to sell.
Enterprise test automation tools:
Tricentis Tosca — model-based, codeless automation with VisionAI for object recognition and self-healing. Strong for SAP, Salesforce and complex end-to-end business processes. We are a Tricentis partner and can supply licences, implementation and training. Tosca is available without licence charge to SAP customers on Enterprise Support.
OpenText UFT One — mature, broad technology coverage including desktop and legacy applications that open-source tools struggle with. We are a Gold OpenText partner and can quote competitive licensing alongside our services.
SmartBear TestComplete — strong coverage of desktop and hybrid applications alongside web, with scripting in Python and JavaScript and AI-assisted object recognition. A good fit where an estate mixes modern web front ends with older desktop software that open-source tools cannot reach.
Open-source test automation frameworks:
Playwright — our default choice for new web automation. Fast, reliable, and the framework our AI-assisted generation workflow targets.
Selenium WebDriver — C#, Java, JavaScript and Python. The right answer when you have existing in-house skills and assets to protect.
Cypress — developer-centric front-end testing, well suited to teams already working in JavaScript.
Appium — native and hybrid mobile app automation across iOS and Android.
Our accelerators are included at no cost alongside our services. Quality Fusion is our codeless automation platform for web, desktop, mobile and API tests, built on open-source components with self-healing scripts. Effecta enables script-free automation for manual testers and business analysts. Tidium provides masked, GDPR-compliant test data on demand.
Applications we automate
We automate testing for major enterprise platforms as well as bespoke software. Our pre-built accelerators and reusable functions mean automation for common business applications starts from an existing base rather than a blank page, which shortens time to first working test.
- SAP and SAP S/4HANA — migration testing, regression packs and data validation across the S/4HANA landscape
- Salesforce — automation resilient to Salesforce's release cadence, dynamic elements and iframes, covering Lightning and Classic
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 — regression automation across CRM and finance and operations modules
- Workday — HCM and financials test automation
- Ellucian Banner and Tribal SITS — Higher Education specific, Student Records Systems
- iManage and Microsoft 365 — document management, billing and compliance workflow validation for legal and professional services
- IBM Sterling Order Management — API-level automation using our purpose-built Sterling test suite
- Custom web, mobile and API applications
How we deliver test automation
We support test automation at every stage: reviewing what you already have, choosing the right tools, building suites from scratch, and running automation as an ongoing managed service.
Test automation review — an independent assessment of your existing automation: frameworks, tools, team skills, test assets, coverage and scope. You get a report on where automation is delivering value, where it is not, and what to fix first.
Tool selection and proof of concept — a structured evaluation against your applications, skills and budget, validated by a working proof of concept before you commit.
Automation build — we design and build the framework and the test assets, working alongside your development sprints so regression coverage grows with the code rather than lagging behind it.
Continuous testing and CI/CD integration — automated tests wired into your pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) so every build is tested and every failure is visible immediately.
Managed automation service — we maintain and extend the suite as your applications evolve. This prevents the gradual decay that stops most automation programmes working within eighteen months, and it costs considerably less than hiring an equivalent UK automation team.
Training and handover — where you want the capability in-house, we build it with you and hand it over with documentation.
You own everything we build - Every automation asset we create is standalone. Your tests run and can be maintained without any Prolifics tool, licence or involvement. Our accelerators speed up the build; they are not a dependency you inherit. If you choose to take the work in-house or move to another supplier, the automation goes with you.

Test Automation FAQs
How much does test automation cost?
Cost depends on application complexity, the number of business processes in scope and whether you need enterprise tool licences. A typical starting point is a fixed-price proof of concept covering a handful of critical user journeys, which establishes a reliable cost per automated test before you commit to a full programme.
How long does it take to see a return on test automation?
Most clients see payback within three to six months on high-frequency regression suites. The variable is not build speed but execution frequency: a suite run nightly repays its build cost far faster than one run quarterly.
Should we use Tricentis Tosca, OpenText UFT, Playwright or Selenium?
Tosca and UFT suit organisations with complex enterprise applications and limited in-house coding skills. Playwright and Selenium suit teams with developers who will own the framework. Desktop and legacy applications often rule out the open-source options. We run a short evaluation against your actual applications rather than recommending on principle.
Can AI write our automated tests?
AI can generate working test code from requirements, user stories and API specifications, and this is now a routine part of how we build suites. It does not replace test design judgement: a consultant reviews and owns every generated test, because an AI that generates a hundred tests against a misunderstood requirement has produced a hundred wrong tests very efficiently.
Can you automate SAP, Salesforce and Dynamics 365?
Yes. We have accelerators and pre-built functions for SAP, S/4HANA, Salesforce, Dynamics 365, Workday and others, so automation starts from an existing base.
Who owns the test automation assets you build?
You do. All assets are standalone and run without any Prolifics tool, licence or involvement.
Can you take over automation someone else built?
Yes. We start with a review of the existing suite to establish what is worth keeping, then stabilise and extend it.
Do you provide test data for automation?
Yes. Unreliable test data is one of the most common causes of automated test failure. We can provide masked, GDPR-compliant test data through our Tidium platform and our Data Mining Engine accelerator.
